Learning to make money on eBay is fun and simple. The first step to getting started is to sign up for an eBay account and become familiar with the site. Here's how.
Instructions
- Sign up for an eBay account. Simply go to www.ebay.com and select 'Register'. Answer the questions (name, address, phone number, email address, birth date) and select the 'Register' button at the bottom.
- Activate your account. After registering, you will receive an email from eBay asking you to activate your account. Simply select the 'Activate Now' button in the email.
- Open a PayPal account. Once your eBay account is activated, you will be brought to the main eBay screen where you will have the opportunity to open a PayPal account so that you can receive payments from your eBay buyers. If you already have a PayPal Account, go to Step 4.
- Link your PayPal and eBay accounts. At the top of the eBay main screen, select the 'My eBay' tab, then the 'Account' tab. Scroll down the middle of the page and select 'Link to my PayPal Account' and follow the instructions.
- Update your profile. From the 'Account' tab, select 'Personal Information'. Scroll down to Financial Information and select 'Update your automatic payment method'. Select PayPal or a credit card - this is how eBay will charge you for your listing fees.
- Become familiar with the site. Select the 'Community' tab from the eBay main screen. Spend some time in the Answer Center, Chat Rooms, and Discussion Boards to become familiar with eBay and get input from eBay veterans.
